GEOMOTORSPORT.ID - Maybe it's the time for Japanese Racer to come back for Formula 1 Championship. Japan has a long racers list who was competed in F1. The last Japanese driver who competed in formula 1 so far was Kamui Kobayashi. And now, Japan has a chance in Yuki Tsunoda. Yuki is now competing in Formula 2 Championship with Carlin. Yuki is also Redbull Junior Driver, so he have a chance to step up in to the next level in Formula 1 soon.
Yuki Tsunoda has a good result in his rookie season. He finish 9th in F3 last year and got the podium this year in F2. His best result in F2 was got victory for Sprint Race in Silverstone Round-II at the Formula 1 70th Anniversary Event. And he also got podium three times so far, he achieve 2nd position for Feature Race at Redbull Ring Round-II, and finish 3rd at Silverstone Round-I. So at the end, Tsunoda set in 4th for the current driver standings. With his brilliant result so far, Tsunoda has emerged as the driver that both Honda and Red Bull would like to promote.
"First of all, Red Bull and Honda are supporting Tsunoda because he is a fantastic driver,” said the Austrian. I remember back at the race in Austria in the wet conditions when he was leading the race but then unfortunately because of some radio problems he came in for the tyres too late, for the pitstop too late, and then he finished second. Toast said Tsunoda improving his performance better and better this year so far and he so impressed.
At the other side, Redbull Advisors Dr. Helmut Marko think Russian Alpha Tauri driver Daniil Kvyat quite not performing well in F1. "Yes, Daniil doesn't perform well as we expected. But there are still only halfway trough.", said Helmut quoted from Formula World.
Dr. Helmut Marko was notice Yuki Tsunoda's talent in F3 and F2. But he said, there is no thinking for replacing Daniil Kvyat so far. (geomotorsport.id/George Steven Suparman)
