GEOMOTORSPORT.ID - Tension began to appear between forth time world champion Sebastian Vettel with his prancing horse team Scuderia Ferrari. The tension started after the two parties' contracts were no longer renewed, and with Carlos Sainz taking his ferrari seat for next year.
Its all started from Formula 1 70th Anniversary Grand Prix in Silverstone two weeks ago. Vettel failed to qualify or finish any higher than 10th position over that weekend. at the Vettel side, Vettel presume the the team strategy was messed up and the team decision was non sense. He said the tim strategy trap him in to the traffic. But Vettel said there is no tension added with the team due to its struggles at Silverstone.
"I think we are trying to do everything we can, and it is never relaxed if things don't go your way or they go wrong. Naturally, if you judge the emotions right after the race or during the race, I don't think that is a fair reflection of what is going on", said Vettel quoted from Motorsport.com
And the story continued in Spain last week. The tensions show up in the team radio which was broadcasted live on TV during the race in sunday. The broadcast feed shows the German Driver asking for guidance on his strategy. The team appearing to take some time to issue a reply Vettel. Vettel asked the ferrari pit wall whether he sould managing the tyre to trying one stop strategy. Despite being overtaken by Stroll and Sainz, Vettel was able to manage Redbull of Alex Albon to stay behind and finish in 7th position. Vettel success to managing the soft tyre until the end for 37 laps.
"We were P11, and I think we were trying to offset until the end of the race, so obviously we were catching the cars in front. They pitted for their second stop, but I was not in a rush to catch them and managing the tyres. Then I was told to push, which I did, and I was told to make it to the end, or asked if I could make it to the end. I said: 'Well, you could have asked that three laps before because I asked a couple of times, what's the target, how long do we want to go, so I could look after my tyres'", said Vettel quoted from Motorsport.com
Scuderia Ferrari Team Principal Mattia Bonoto said its no difference in communication between teams and the drivers. Binotto said. "At least from our side, we've not changed a different type of tone or what else, so i'm quite surprised. It's not the case.".
Vettel also echoing Mattia Binotto's comment after the race. Vettel said it's no different to how it has been, Sometimes he talk on the radio, but they see each other the whole day, so he can talk the whole day. nothing was changed. (geomotorsport.id/George Steven Suparman)
