GEOMOTORSPORT.ID - 2020 Formula 1 Belgium Grand Prix was the moments that must be forgotten for Ferrari F1 Team and all Ferrari Fans. Last race in Belgium was the lowest point for Ferrari in the last 5 years in Formula 1. At the qualifying session in saturday, Ferrari was almost fail to make into q2 session. In the q1 session, Sebastian Vettel can only set in P13 and Charles Leclerc in P15 with all Team was using Ferrari engine like HAAS and Alfa Romeo stay out in q1. But in the process Ferrari can only set they qualifying position on p13 for Leclerc and p14 for Vettel in q2 session.
“The underlying factor is that we were just not quick enough and at that stage, it’s a bit difficult, you cannot pull out miracles, we are not as strong as we would like to be. ", said Vettel quoted from RacingInsider.
At the race in sunday, Ferrari was overtaken with many midfield cars like Alpha Tauri, Renault, Mclaren and Racing Point. Ferrari looks struggle to get the power in straight line speed. But in the result the team was not good enaugh and stays behind.
Ferrari Team Principal Mattia Binotto said the post race in belgium was disappoined and angry after being left severely lacking of car performence . But Binotto hopes it will not happen again in the next race weekend
"The problem is related to this weekend, We have not been able to understand how to make the tyres work. After all, this is the same car we had in the past races, as have our rivals. So there is something that didn't work for us because we are further behind than we should be.", said Binotto in the interview with sky italy.
The 2021 Ferrari Driver Carlos Sainz looks frustration to facing his future in the next year with team. He said if he was the driver this year, he will going to be completely honest. "I want more power. I mean i'm the first one that will be there in the factory pushing to find more power and i'm pushing everyone as soon as i get there. "
"Ferrari has a lot of resource, a lot of power benches, so i'm sure they are there at the factory working extremely hard to get the power that they've host from one year to another", said Sainz quoted from Formula World
The next event to be held is Italian GP, the home of Ferrari Team. The event will be start this weekend. Ferrari needs to find their car problem to show their performance in their homeland. Ferrari Driver Sebastian Vettel said they need to stay optimistic and see the good things, even if there’s not many.
